Effective January 1, 2006, imported packaging wood must be treated and marked in accordance with ISPM 15 and debarked.
Wood must be debarked and marked with a border. There have been reports that China rejects packaging wood whose marking includes a border and/or the designation DB (Debarked)! For more information, please contact the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).
For shipments that do not contain dunnage or packaging wood, the exporter is required to complete a document (Declaration of Non Wood Packaqe).
Shipments with Hong Kong and Macau as their final destination are not subject to China's measures.

Only wood sourced from recognized registered companies in the country in question may be used in the production of wooden packaging without treatment and subsequently sold as packaging that meets the requirements of ISPM 15.
