Registered companies guarantee that their wooden packaging complies with the requirements of ISPM 15. This ensures trouble-free transport worldwide. The requirements that a company must meet for registration with SMHV are laid down in the SMHV Manual.
A company can register directly with one of the three Certification Bodies (CBs) with which SMHV has concluded an agreement.
All three CBs are accredited by the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA).
Once the CB has approved a company through an audit, the CB registers this company with SMHV. SMHV submits the company for official recognition to the NVWA. This recognition means that the NVWA assesses whether the company is permitted to use the ISPM 15 mark in accordance with Article 98 of Regulation (EU) 2016/2031 on the basis of the certificate and can be included in the SMHV register for registration.
