Import of packaging wood to Europe
Registered companies from countries whose system has been recognized by the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) are generally listed on the websites of the relevant authorities.
If the registered company is not listed on this website, it must have a valid certificate from the relevant authorities confirming its acceptance into the system.
If the above two cases do not apply, the wood can only be considered to have undergone ISPM 15 treatment in the following cases:
- The packages are marked "HT" and the phytosanitary certificate bears the above-mentioned text with the designation "d."
Or
- The packages are marked "HT" and the treatment method is described as follows:
"The wood has undergone an appropriate heat treatment to achieve a minimum core temperature of 56°C for at least 30 minutes." Treatments that do not comply with this (e.g., treated for 6 hours at 60°C) are not ISPM 15-compliant.
