Effective June 1, 2004, imported packaging wood must be treated and marked in accordance with ISPM 15. Dunnage must also be treated and marked in accordance with ISPM 15.

As of November 6, 2023, shipments of dunnage intended for disembarkation must be notified to the Canadian authorities (CFIA) at least 96 hours in advance. Dunnage can only be landed at CFIA-designated terminals. Per 6 november 2023 dienen zendingen met stuwhout dat aan land gebracht gaat worden tenminste 96 uur van te voren aangemeld te worden bij de Canadese autoriteiten (CFIA). Het aan land brengen van stuwhout kan alleen in door CFIA aangewezen terminals.
